Open Positions
Technical Presales Specialist (BRISBANE)
Role Overview:
You have worked in Australian telco in a technical or presales role and you can explain Enterprise Ethernet vs FTTP, Layer 2 vs Layer 3 and SD-WAN without notes. You are tired of carrying a quota, or tired of being stuck in the back office, and you want a role where your knowledge makes a whole sales team better.
Please note: this role requires hands-on Australian telco or carrier industry experience. Applications without it will not progress.
About us
Telair is a Brisbane based, carrier agnostic telco and managed services provider. We have been around for over 20 years and we sell across the full stack: nbn and fibre connectivity, voice, SD-WAN and managed IT and security. Because we are carrier agnostic, our salespeople need broader product knowledge than almost anyone else in the market. That is where you come in.
The role
-
Be the technical go-to for our BDMs and Account Managers, including jumping on customer calls when a technical voice is needed.
-
Run short, practical training sessions across our portfolio: nbn access types, Enterprise Ethernet and fibre, L2 vs L3, voice and SIP, SD-WAN, managed IT and security.
-
Write the tools the team actually uses: battle cards, objection handling guides, knowledge base articles and Microsoft SKU guides.
-
Coordinate vendor and distributor training and accreditation plans, including Microsoft and endpoint security.
-
Dig into lost deals and order failures, find the knowledge gaps, and close them.
About you
Hands-on Australian telco or carrier experience. You might currently be a presales engineer, sales engineer, solutions consultant, or in a technical service delivery or NOC role and looking for a move to the commercial side. This is non-negotiable.
You can translate technical detail into plain commercial language, in person and in writing.
You can teach. Formal training qualifications are not required, but you know how to get knowledge into other people’s heads and prove it stuck.
You are organised, self-directed, and happy owning the day to day as well as the interesting stuff.
What is on offer
• $110,000 to $125,000 plus super, commensurate with experience.
• A genuine seat at the table with the sales leadership team, reporting to the National Sales Manager.
• No quota. Your job is to make the people with quotas better.
• Brisbane based with a stable, profitable, 20 year old business that is still growing.
How to Apply
To apply, submit your resume with a short note telling us the most complex telco concept you have had to explain to a non-technical person, and how you did it.
Applicants must have full, unrestricted working rights in Australia.
Telair is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
